Some clients may encounter the following issues while migrating their applications from EAE to AB Suite, if the application includes Keywords.
The keywords in a .mdl file are corrupted after extracting the model from the repository, which has been in use for a long time. The reason appears to be the result of the offsets of painted keyword items being different to the offsets of the keyword items in the keyword definition.
Once EAE Export encounters a keyword with a problem, it does not extract any other keywords in the model. For one client affected by this problem, an utility was used to identify affected keywords and the .mdl file was repaired by editing it.
When an extracted .mdl is imported into a new EAE repository and then extracted again, EAE export does not extract all keywords. Normally, a .mdl that is to be migrated to AB Suite is imported into EAE to ensure that it validates cleanly, then it is extracted from where it is imported to create the .mdl that will be imported into AB Suite.
When this problem occurs, it is not possible to use the .mdl extracted from the new repository. In this case, use the .mdl extracted from the original repository for the migration to AB Suite.
If you encounter either of these problems during the preparation for the migration of your applications from EAE to AB Suite, report your issue to Unisys support.
