What is Agile Business Suite System Modeler?

System Modeler is a project type available from within the Visual Studio development environment.

When you migrate your existing EAE system you can open the model in the development environment. It opens as a System Modeler project. Once opened in the development environment a solution file is created for the model.

System Modeler is a tool for designing and defining logical elements and relationships, and constructing and testing systems based on these. It provides a fast-cycle approach to application development, based on applying changes directly to the high-level model description. You can test the changes as soon as you have made them and deploy the changes directly to the runtime environments.

System Modeler also facilitates the use of Client Framework that delivers an open approach to user interface development by integrating industry-standard interfaces with DataModel concepts. This helps the .NET developers to design end-user middleware and service-based applications that connect to AB Suite systems by using technologies, such as Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and ASP.Net ModelView-Controller (MVC) with the AB Suite Client Framework applications.

Because of this fast-cycle capability, System Modeler provides the technology to develop, deploy, and operate small to very high-volume applications that are responsive to business change.

Essentially, the development environment provides a single, integrated interface for completing a wide range of activities. These activities include:
