Namespaces

All elements within System Modeler, with the exception of the model itself, belong to another element that owns them. For example, a business segment is “owned” by the model, an ispec is “owned” by the business segment in which it belongs. Elements are identified within their owner by name and for this reason their owner is called a “namespace”.

You can rename elements within a namespace, or even rename a namespace, without affecting the elements that are “owned” by the namespace. Elements must have a unique name within their namespace. Namespaces can also be nested.
