Use this dialog box to change the font and colors of added, changed, deleted, and highlighted text in the View Differences , or LCIF View , dialog boxes.
Other display attributes that can be changed are:
The Ignore Name Differences attribute determines if different objects being viewed have all records displayed as additions and deletions, or as changes in the View Differences dialog box.
The Difference Report XML Encoding attribute determines the character encoding format of differences reports.
These attribute settings also control how your report is displayed, if you create a differences report.
Use the Settings command on the Tools menu or click Change Display Attributes on the View Differences, or LCIF View, dialog boxes to display the Display Attributes dialog box.
The Attributes pane lists the display attributes that might be customized. Click Reset Default to reset the selected attribute back to the system default.
The Preview pane displays the current font and color settings. Click a preview item to highlight its corresponding attribute setting in the Attributes pane.
Note: The preview of the Found setting displays the Find Result Highlight Color, not the foreground color.
To change color attributes, perform the following:
Select one of the color attribute settings listed in the Attributes pane.
Click Change.
The standard Windows color dialog box is displayed.
Select a different color or create a custom color.
Click OK.
To change the font attribute, perform the following:
Select Fixed Width Font in the Attributes pane.
Click Change.
The standard Windows color dialog box is displayed.
Select a different font, and its style and size, from the list of fixed width system fonts available.
Click OK.
To set the Ignore Name Differences attribute, perform the following:
Select Ignore Name Differences in the Attributes pane.
Click Change.
The Name Differences Setting dialog box is displayed.
Select ON to ignore name differences when comparing objects in the View Differences dialog. All other differences are displayed as changes to the same object.
Select OFF to include these differences. Differences between the objects being compared are displayed as additions and deletions.
Click OK.
The View Differences dialog box must be closed and then reopened for this change to take effect.
To set the Difference Report XML Encoding attribute, perform the following:
Select Difference Report XML Encoding in the Attributes pane.
Click Change.
The Difference Report XML Encoding dialog box is displayed.
In the text box, enter a character encoding format supported by your browser. Some examples are:
For most Western European languages: ISO-8859-1
For Kanji: SHIFT_JIS
Click OK.
Attributes Pane
The Attributes pane on the Display Attributes dialog box displays a list of all the display attributes you can customize.
Select an attribute and click Change to modify the attribute. Click Reset Default to reset the selected attribute to the system default.

Change Button
Click Change on the Display Attributes dialog box to display:
The standard color dialog box for color attributes.
The standard font dialog box, containing available fixed width fonts, for the font attribute.
The setting dialog boxes for the Ignore LCIF Format Changes, Ignore Name Differences, and Difference Report XML Encoding attributes.
Difference Color Indicators (Differences)
The Difference Color Indicators on the status bar display the current color and font settings. This can be changed by clicking Change Display Attributes to open the Display Attributes dialog box.
Name Differences Setting Dialog Box
Use the Name Differences Setting dialog box to set the Ignore Name Differences attribute for viewing objects in a View Differences dialog box.
Open this dialog box from the Display Attributes dialog box by selecting Ignore Name Differences in the Attribute list and clicking Change.
Select ON to ignore name differences when comparing objects in the View Differences dialog. All other differences are displayed as changes to the same object.
Select OFF to include these differences. Differences between the objects being compared are displayed as additions and deletions.
The View Differences window must be closed and then reopened for changes to take effect.
If you update the Ignore Name Differences setting, you must close any open View Differences dialog box and then reopen it for the change to take effect.
Reset Default Button
Click Reset Default on the Display Attributes dialog box to reset the selected attribute(s) to the default settings.
Preview Pane
The Preview field displays the currently selected colors and fonts.
Ignore LCIF Format Changes Dialog Box
Use the Ignore LCIF Format Changes dialog box to set the Ignore LCIF Changes attribute for viewing objects in a View Differences dialog.
The Ignore LCIF Format Changes attribute determines if differences due to LCIF Definition format changes between Developer releases are displayed.
Open this dialog box from the Display Attributes dialog box by selecting Ignore LCIF Format Changes in the Attributes pane and clicking Change:
Select ON to ignore differences due to LCIF format changes between Developer releases when comparing objects in the View Differences window. All LCIF files appears as though they were created with the installed Developer release.
Select OFF to include these differences. This is the default setting.
The View Differences window must be closed and then reopened for changes to take effect.
Note: Regardless of the setting of the Ignore LCIF Format Changes attribute, a Specification Difference Report displays:
GSD Blocks as added, if GSD Blocks are not present in the first specification being compared. GSD Blocks are displayed as deleted if not present in the second specification. For example, GSD Block might not be present if a specification was created with a version of Developer prior to Release 3.1, or simply if GSD Blocks have yet to be added to the specification.
LCIF file format Keyword differences between the two specifications.
LCIF file format differences between a host-generated LCIF file and another specification (host-generated or otherwise).
LCIF file format Fast Load Report data differences between the two specifications.
On/Off Radio Buttons
On the Ignore LCIF Format Changes and Name Differences Setting dialog Boxes:
Select ON to enable the Ignore LCIF Format Changes attribute.
Select OFF to disable the Ignore LCIF Format Changes attribute.
Record View Dialog Box
The Record View dialog box displays the fields contained in individual records. A dialog box containing different fields is displayed for each record type.
Contact your support center for a copy of the LCIF help file for more information on individual records.
To display the Record View dialog box, perform the following:
Double-click on a record in the LCIF View Dialog Box , or View Differences , dialog boxes.
Shortcut keys are Ctrl + Enter.
Frame Subsections
The Frame Number Subsection field is only enabled when the object being viewed or compared is a Report. It is blank unless the LCIF Section field is set to Frame.
When a Frame number is selected from the Frame Number field this field contains the Definition, Business Rules and Main Logic sections for the Frame.
A triangle icon is displayed beside sections that contain one or more differences.
Frame Number / Teach Screen Field
The Frame Number / Teach Screen field is only enabled when the object being viewed or compared is a Report or an Ispec. It is blank unless the LCIF Section field is set to Frame for Reports or Teach Screen for Ispecs.
Frames
The field contains a list of Frame numbers of the Report. For Difference, the Frame number switches to the Frame that contains the first difference. If there are no differences, it defaults to Frame 00.
A triangle icon is displayed beside Frames that contain one or more differences.
Teach Screens
The field contains a list of Teach Screens for the Ispecs. For Difference, the Teach Screen name switches to the Teach Screen that contains the first difference. If there are no Teach Screens the field is disabled.
