Application Builder Server Configuration and Commands

This section contains details of the commands for the Application Builder on the MCP builder platform.

Application Builder Overview

The Application Builder is part of the Agile Business Suite Runtime installation on the host. It communicates with the Developer Builder through TCP/IP sockets. The Application Builder compiles, links, and deploys a Runtime system on a target host. Refer to the Agile Business Suite Installation and Configuration Guide for the required host platform for more information on installation.

The Application Builder does not have a GUI interface, therefore the client is responsible for user input and controls the generate process. Once all the user information is entered and the generate initiated, the source files of the system are generated. As each file is successfully generated, it is automatically transferred to the Application Builder using the standard FTP mechanism.

The Application Builder responds to requests from the client and sends progress and error messages back to the client. When all source files have been generated and transferred to the target host, the Developer Builder issues the Compile and Deploy request to the Application Builder. A message is sent from the Application Builder to the client at the completion of the Compile and Deploy phase indicating if it has been successful.
