Deletion of HUB Recovery Records

When not using Two-Phase Commit for the processing of messages between applications, details of the message response in the receiving application are stored in a dataset in the receiving database. This is done so that during recovery of a HUB transaction, the receiving application does not have to reprocess the whole transaction.

In order to remove the records that are no longer required from the receiving database, the HUB software periodically initiates a program named system/HUB/JANITOR as a background activity. After each ten records have been deleted, an end-transaction is performed and any locked records are released.

The HUB/JANITOR task can be restricted to a nominated time period within a calendar day. HUB/JANITOR will continue run once per calendar day.

Refer to the HUBRouter Installation and Configuration section earlier in this manual for the Lincsupport commands available for managing HUB/JANITOR.
