Offline Input Message Routing
The figure above depicts message routing when interfacing to an application with the Offline Input interface method. This process is summarized as follows:
Offline is initiated by LSS, communicating through a port file.
Offline manages the flow of output, to ensure that the application is not flooded with messages.
Upon receipt of a message, LSS sends it to the appropriate COMSTP program (as a TP-to-TP message).
The COMSTP program processes the message in the normal manner, with its final output being a TP-to-TP message directed specifically to LSS.
The reply is returned to Offline by LSS.
Up to ten messages can be in process at any one time.
Sufficient data is stored by the application so that LSS is able to reinitiate Offline in the event of a failure.
