The syntax for this command is as follows:
ALTER {nn} OLDFAM-<old family>--NEWFAM-<new family>\
ALTER {nn} OLDUSER <old usercode> NEWUSER <new usercode>
Use this command to alter the dictionary family and usercode attributes of existing system nn, defined to the Application Builder. This command only alters the Application Builder’s internal table; it does not perform any other function.
You might use this command as required when an existing system is manually migrated via SMU to a different usercode or family and you want to avoid losing the system generate history, the current universal times and other information.
Validation is performed to ensure that the correct entry is selected (via the OLD.. check) and also that the new entries are valid (that is, a valid pack name, a valid usercode). You must ensure that all necessary files now reside on the selected location.
Refer to INDEX command for more information on determining system index nn.
