It is important that you make backups of your entire applications, including their databases, at the following times:
At least once a week, or more often if your application handles a large volume of information. This helps to reduce the time required to recover from corruption or failure.
Both before and after generation or regeneration of an application.
Before you install a new version of Agile Business Suite.
This backup should be done to ensure that DMS levels do not cause problems. These problems could result in an inability to do a Configure with Retain after the new version of Agile Business Suite is loaded.
An application backup includes making a copy of your database and saving the Audit files for that database. If your database is corrupted for any reason, the only way to recover the data is to use an application backup copy.
The database itself should always be backed up using DMS II backup functions.
