Translating Captions Using FTU

The caption translation menu screen is displayed if you enter Y in TRANSLATE DAD property on the Welcome screen. Each caption is displayed in turn.

If you choose to translate both captions and Segment attributes, the Segment attribute translation menu is given first.

Make any changes to your caption values for the languages shown on the screen, and transmit. Alternatively, you might enter an FTU command in the COLON COMMAND property.

The Segment Attribute and Caption Translation Utility screen properties, and your end-of-file choices, are detailed in the following subsections.

DATA NAME Property

This property displays the current name of the Ispec attribute or Profile, as applicable.

Ispec Property

This property displays an Ispec name, or the value PROFILE.

COLON COMMAND Property

Valid commands that you can enter in this property are shown in the following table. You can enter the full command, or only the first character of the command.

Stop the current FTU activity and save all changes made.

:DAD [spec] [name]

Skip to the specified caption record.

:END

Same as :BYE.

:GSD [gsd]

Skip to the specified Segment attribute.

:NEXT

Skip to the next record.

:QUIT

Same as :TERMINATE.

:REFRESH

Refresh the current screen.

:SKIP [spec] [name]

Skip to the specified record.

:TERMINATE

Stop the current FTU activity and discard all changes made.
