Pivot Numbers

A log file might contain up to 999999 physical records. Each physical record might contain up to nine logical records. Each logical record holds one individual log event.

The number of logical records within a physical record depends on the size of the logical records. These varies for log events that contain screen message text, depending on the length of the message text.

Each logical log record is identified by a unique identifier called a Pivot. The Pivot Number is in three parts with the structure nnn rrrrrr l as shown in the following table.
