You can use SMU to change Dictionary or default pack of an existing application. You can also use SMU to change some of the settings of your existing application, or to clone your application and make changes to the cloned application.
With SMU you can change:
Application names and usercodes, database names, DMS software usercodes, protected input settings, protected output file names, and COMS window names
Family information (default, dictionary, object, log, extract, ROC, DMS software, database, station info, event, audit, duplicate audit, protected output file, duplicate protected output file)
OLTP service names
SMU is useful if you have lost a pack, and you need to recover your files from backup.
Note: When a system is cloned using SMU, any database structure that has been assigned to a pack other than the default database pack is not copied to the target system. These structures must be copied manually.
