Initiating DMU

To initiate DMU, perform the following shown in the table.

Ensure that your generated DASDL source file system/SOURCE/DMS is available.

Ensure that your and other programs using the database are not in the mix. Disable the database and use the MARC DBS command to check that the database is out of the mix.

Start a CANDE session under the same usercode as your application. From CANDE, enter:

 RUN $NGEN28/DMU

The DMU HOME screen is then displayed.

Note: To run DMU against a non-usercoded (*) database, the DMU program should be given privileged status, or your SOURCE DMS file should be made PUBLIC, before initiating DMU from a non-usercoded MARC session.
