Enter the following parameters when LINC/MON is initiated, or when you return from monitoring mode by using the AGAIN (A) command:

Note: LINC/MON parameters might be saved and reloaded. Refer to Other LINC/MON Tasks for more information.
Required System Name
Use this property to enter the name of your application and the pack where the control file is located (Dictionary pack), in the following format:
system ON pack
System Usercode
Use this property to enter the appropriate usercode for the application log files you wish to monitor.
Required Log Number
Use this property to enter the log file number of the LINCLOG file you wish to monitor. Valid log file numbers are in the range 1 through 998. Available file numbers might be obtained by using the :LOG Administration (colon) command.
If you wish to view the current LINCLOG file, leave this property blank, or enter a zero.
If you wish to use monitoring mode, ensure that your application has the LOG option enabled. If not, you might enable it by using the :LOG+ Administration command.
You might later change to another file. Refer to CHANGE command for more information.
Activity Type
Use this property to enter the LINC/MON operating mode you wish to run. Enter one of the values shown in the following table.

By default, the value is M.
Monitor Period
An entry in this property is only required when you are monitoring transactions and system events. Its value gives the time period (in seconds) for transaction rate calculation, in the range 1 through 240 (seconds). LINC/MON analyzes your LINCLOG file and displays results over this time period.
Transaction Source
An entry in this property is only required when you are monitoring transactions and system events. Its value gives the originating source of the transactions to be monitored. Enter one of the values shown in the following table.

N | No transactions. Use this option when you only wish to monitor system events. If you choose this option, do not enter N for the MIX option. |
Note: System events are displayed on Page 1 when N is entered in this property.In monitoring mode, you might later change this setting. Refer to TYPE command under LINC/MON Command Reference Summary for more information.
Monitor Mix
This property is only relevant when you are monitoring system events.
It enables you to receive displayed notification of system events at your terminal as they occur during running. Enter Y or N to indicate whether or not you wish to select this option. In monitoring mode, you might later change this setting.
If you enter N for this option, do not enter N in the Transaction Source property.
