Monitor Utility

The System Monitor (LINC/MON) might be used to monitor the performance of your System, and to analyze the transactions taking place.

Before using LINC/MON, ensure you have read and understood Activity Log.

Running LINC/MON has no impact on your application performance, as it only accesses the LINCLOG file. It does not communicate with the application itself.

Note: LINC/MON must run in the mix with the application you want to monitor, except when using Viewing Mode or Inquiry Mode.

Caution
Usercode and/or Accesscode passwords are stored in the logs, and may be displayed in unprotected mode and printed out by this program. If this is of concern, you may restrict use of the program, as follows:
Ensure your LINC/MON program resides under a privileged usercode, so that only privileged users may run it.
If the program remains public (for example, it is not usercoded), you can change the Security of the program to PRIVATE IO so that only privileged users may run it.
