Following are the limitations of the LINCLOG security feature:
You must not enter a CAPTION for any attributes that appear in the copy area of copy-from screens, if you select these attributes for masking.
When the security option is enabled for Loglibrary, the normal data compaction of T27 style output packets (> 1000 bytes) is bypassed. This enables the data packet in the LINCLOG to be interpreted correctly by using the offsets provided in the LINCGLI file. It also results in large LINCLOG files when a high volume of T27 screen transaction items are selected for masking.
The response returned by a :REC when POF is disabled includes the mask values of the corresponding fields on any screens where data masking is enabled.
You can apply a maximum of five discrete range masks to a single attribute.
If an item requiring masking appears in a copy from region then its associated DAD value (or, if a dictionary item, the dictionary DAD value) must be either set to the actual item name or left blank.
Masking of PasswordField: For ispec attributes that have a Fixed and Graphical painter, when the ControlType property is set to PasswordField in one painter and not in the other, the setting of the ControlType property in the Fixed painter takes precedence for masking. For example, if the ControlType property is set to PasswordField in the Graphical screen painter, but the ControlType property is not set to PasswordField in the Fixed screen painter, the attribute is not masked in the LINCLOG file.
