Using Parameter String Input to Print the Activity Log

To print the Activity Log by using parameter string input, use one of the following methods:

Sign on to CANDE under the usercode for your application and enter:
```
RUN $NGEN28/LOG [ON pack] ("request")
```

From the ODT, enter:

USER usercode/password;
RUN $NGEN28/LOG [ON pack] ("request")

pack

For pack, specify the pack on which the NGEN28/LOG program resides. Omit ON pack if it is on a family pack for that usercode.

usercode

For usercode, enter the usercode that the Log program is to run under, and the required password.

request

The request parameter request might take one of the following forms:

HEL, HELP, TEA, or TEACH
Supplies a list of the valid options that might be entered.
HELP NOR or HELP NOR UPD
Provides information on general recovery or COMSTP recovery respectively, and enables transactions to be marked as NO.RECOVERY.

As for screen input. Parameter values are explained in the following table.

Parameter	Description
system	Name of your application.
pack	Name of the pack on which your Control file (LINCCNTL) resides (normally the Dictionary pack).
log	Number of the log to be printed: in three digits, 001 through 998, or a range specified in the form start - end (where start and end are log numbers).
options	Refer to Activity Log Options. Entered in any order, separated by spaces. Each option might only be used once. All other option values are ignored following the values ACTIVITY, OUTSTANDING, PERIOD, BOJ, and REPORT.
