ROC Security

Usercode Security

Access to Report output data is made secure by usercode checking. The default usercode for ROC is the COMS log on usercode. Access to Report output is approved for Reports whose Glb.User value is spaces or equal to the ROC usercode.

The usercode can be changed dynamically by using the ROC OPTION command. The new usercode and password is validated by MCP before being accepted.

An ODT Level 2 (controller) station (as defined in your Network Specification) can change its usercode value to spaces. Any Report can then be browsed or printed.

Security of Report output is also influenced by the security associated with the initiation of Reports, which can be managed by using the Security Module (LSM).

Terminal Printing Security using Glb.Priv

Glb.Priv contains the privilege level (1 through 15) of a terminal from which a transaction originates, or of a printer. The privilege level of terminals and printers is specified in the COMS Configuration file. If you move a value to Glb.Priv before the first Print logic command in a Report directed to a Terminal Printer, then the file can only be printed on a printer of an equal or higher privilege.

Refer to Glb.Priv built-in attribute in the Agile Business Suite Programming Reference Manual for more information.
