A schematic overview of ROC output delivery is shown below. When ROC output is sent to be printed (that is, all output requests except video output requests are activated), it is taken from the database, system files, or directly from the Report (for Direct Reports), and output as a printer backup file.

Printer backup files output from ROC Direct Reports are immediately queued for printing by the Prints/Reprints software. Any printing control codes are ignored.

All printer backup files that are output from ROC non-direct Reports are also handled by the Prints/Reprints software. Any printing control codes are interpreted by a file transform when the output is being printed.
