Use the Pack Options screen to define pack allocations for your configure. This screen is displayed when you enter N in the Retain Family Name property on the Configure Options screen 2.
Properties
The Work pack specified on the Configure Options screen is the default value for the properties on this screen. You can change the pack allocations as you require.
Note: When configuring an application for a cloned secondary database, the database packs should be defined to match those defined by the cloning process, as the location of database file packs cannot be altered by the configuration process.
The properties and their expected inputs are:
Default Family
Enter the default pack, which acts as the default location for all parts of your application. The names of other packs inherit from the default pack as shown in the diagram below. The arrows indicate the direction of inheritance.
For example, unless otherwise specified the Audit pack inherits its name from the Dictionary pack which inherits its name from the Default pack. The Event pack inherits from the Database pack which inherits from the Default pack. The Duplicate Audit pack doesn’t inherit its name.
An error occurs at the start of a build if the Default pack remains unnamed.
Event Family
Enter the pack family on which all your Event structures are located, unless structures are specifically directed to other families.
Dict. Family
Enter the Dictionary pack for the application. Files that are located on your specified Dictionary pack are listed in the following table:
File name/directory | Description |
---|---|
DESCRIPTION/database | Database DESCRIPTION file |
system/SOURCE/DMS | DMS source file |
system/SOURCE_FILE/ispec | Ispec source files |
database/CONTROL | Database CONTROL file |
system/LINCCNTL | Agile Business Suite control file |
system/LINCFORM | Forms file |
system/LINCGLI | GLI format file |
Object Family
Enter the location of your system code files and DMS code files for the application being configured. This pack is also used as a work pack, and for storing your Report source files.
Log Family
Enter the pack on which your log files are to reside.
Note: If a log backup program or job is present, it must reside on the Object pack.
Station Family
Enter the pack family where the structures holding information on the terminals accessing your application are stored.
Audit Family
Enter the pack on which your DMS audit files are to reside.
The entry in this property is ignored for audit purposes if you enter U in the Copy Audit to Tape property on the A Series Environmental Options screen. However, the pack you enter in the Audit Pack property is always used to hold the secondary copy of the Glb.Unique file.
Audit2 Family
Enter the pack on which the secondary copies of your DMS audit files are to reside. If you do not enter a value in this property, a secondary copy of the audit files is not kept.
The entry in this property is ignored for audit purposes if you enter U in the Copy Audit to Tape property on the Environmental DMS Options screen.
Reorg Family
Enter the pack for interim structures created by the reorganize process for a retained database.
Database Family
Enter the pack for your Agile Business Suite database structures. The Database pack specified here will not apply to database structures for which you have separately defined a pack.
If you intend using the Pack Mirroring feature, it is essential that you use this property to define one pack for all your database structures.
ROC DB Family
Enter the family on which Report Output Control (ROC) database files are stored. If no entry is made, the database family is used.
This property is only valid if your transferred application was built on the source host with a value of Y in the System Uses ROC property on the Primary Specification Options screen.
ROC File Family
Enter the family for non-database ROC files (ROCDATA files). If no entry is made, the ROC DB family entry is used.
This property is only valid if your transferred application was built on the source host with a value of Y in the System Uses ROC property on the Primary Specification Options screen.
STN Alias Family
Use this property to enter the pack (not family) for the alias file for your reference station library. If you have previously installed the alias file, enter the current location if you want to retain the definitions in the current file. If a file is not found on the specified pack, a new file is created (any existing reference station name definitions are lost).
STN Alias2 Family
Use this property to enter a pack on which a copy of the alias file for the reference station library is to be maintained. The pack must be different from the pack in the Stn Alias Family property. Make no entry if no copy of the file is to be maintained.
Extract Family
Enter the pack for all Report Extract files for your application.
