Restrictions on Compile Free Configure

Although the Compile Free Configure feature is intended to be used with BNA media, it is possible to use TAPE or DISK media. If you use TAPE or DISK media with this feature, you must manually copy certain files from the target host to the source host before the transfer can begin. It is your responsibility to ensure that this is done correctly.

Copy the following files from the dictionary pack of the target application on the target host to the compile-free configure work pack on the source host:

Copy File...

As...

(t_app user)t_app db/CONTROL

(s_app user)t_app db_T/CONTROL/NEW

(t_app user)DESCRIPTION/t_app db

(s_app user)DESCRIPTION/t_app db_T/NEW

(t_app user)t_app sys/SOURCE/DMS

(s_app user)t_app sys_T/SOURCE/DMS/NEW

(t_app user)t_app sys/LINCCNTL

(s_app user)t_app sys_T/LINCCNTL/NEW

(t_app user)t_app sys/SOURCE_FILE/ DBRECORD/LAYOUT

(s_app user)t_app sys_T/SOURCE_FILE/ DBRECORD/LAYOUT/NEW

Copy the following object from the object pack of the target application on the target host to the compile-free configure work pack on the source host:

Copy File...

As...

(t_app user)DMSUPPORT/t_app db

(s_app user)DMSUPPORT/t_app db_T

Copy the following objects over from the target host so that they are not recompiled unnecessarily. They should be copied from the object pack of the target application on the target host to the compile-free configure pack on the source host. If you want them to be recompiled, don’t copy them over:

Copy File...

As...

(t_app user)t_app sys/DBINTERFACE

(s_app user)t_app sys_T/DBINTERFACE

(t_app user)t_app sys/DBILIBRARY

(s_app user)t_app sys_T/DBILIBRARY

Copy the ROCSUPPORT object if your application uses ROC and you do not want to have it recompiled:

Copy File...

As...

(t_app user)t_app sys/ROCSUPPORT

(s_app user)t_app sys_T/ROCSUPPORT
