Using Accept Messages with RIP

By default, accept messages for reports that you initiate through RIP, is read from a disk card image file named ACCEPTFILE. Your Accept messages must be entered into a flat file of type DATA, with one Accept text message for each record.

You must use file equations to identify the file if it has a name other than ACCEPTFILE, as follows:

; FILE ACCEPTFILE (TITLE = newfile )

If you initiate RIP from a WFL, your Accept messages might be entered as data lines within the WFL, by including the following file equation:

FILE ACCEPTFILE (KIND = READER)

Each data line within the WFL might contain up to 72 characters.

If your Accept messages are entered as data lines within the WFL, RIP writes a disk file that contains the Accept messages, and which has the following form of file name:

system/report/ACCEPT
