The following table shows how to initiate and terminate TPS.

Initiate TPS, and sign on as a user station | From MARC, enter? ON TPS. |
Specify the pack for TPS backup files (see note) | Enter the TPS BACKUP command. |
To use your terminal as an Observer station | Enter a TPS OBSERVER command. |
To free your Terminal, but keep TPS in mix | Enter the TPS BYE command, or sign on to another COMS window. |
Stop TPS | Enter a TPS QUIT, STOP, or CRASH command. |
Note: For more details about specifying the TPS backup file pack, see "Specifying the TPS Backup File Pack." If COMS MINCOPIES for TPS is set to 1, TPS will always be initiated.
During initiation, TPS initializes the NGEN28TP/BUFFER and NGEN28TP/TANK files and reloads the NGEN28SYS/CODES, NGEN28TP/USERS, NGEN28TP/GROUPS, and NGEN28TP/ LINCINDEX files, if they are present.
