TPS commands enable you to control and observe the status of Report output directed to terminal printers. There are two levels of TPS commands:
USER commands
CONTROL commands
You can optionally set up the following sign-on requirements for up to 100 TPS users in the NGEN28TP/USERS file:
User name
Checkword
Command level
When the NGEN28TP/USERS file is accessible to TPS, these details are loaded, and all users signing on to TPS with a HELLO, LOGON, or USER command must enter a valid user name and checkword pair. Any user name and its associated checkword may be used from any number of terminals. The command level is optional, and defaults to USER command level.
If the NGEN28TP/USERS file is not present, a sign-on command is not required, and the full range of TPS commands are available to any user signed on to TPS.
For more details, see Setting Up a NGEN28TP/USERS File.
Notes:
This is not intended as a fully-implemented security system. It provides some measure of control over access to Report output files and TPS commands that control Report output.
The NGEN28TP/USERS file gives sign-on capability for TPS only, and is independent of your host machine sign-on.
