Defining transformations refers to mapping the classifiers and the features in the ClassifierMap Designer and the FeatureMap Designer, respectively. While defining a transformation, you can enable automatic mapping of features that have the same names and can also define expressions to the feature mappings.

You can customize the mapping to transform data based on your requirement using the Data Manipulation Language (DML) Command Substitution feature in DDW. For more information, refer to Configuring DML Command Substitution
