Redirecting Transformation Data Store Schema

The Redirect option lets you reuse an existing set of mappings from a particular transformation in another transformation. To reuse the mappings, you have to redirect an existing source or target data store schema to another source or target data store schema. Before you redirect, ensure that both the schemas must be of the same data store type.

To redirect

  1. On the Transformation View, select the source schema or the target schema that you want to redirect.

  2. Right-click the schema and select Redirect.

The Redirect Transformation dialog box appears, based on the source or the target schema you selected.

  3. Select the schema from the Redirect to schema drop-down list.

  4. Click Next.

Note: If you want to update the schema before redirecting, select the Update the selected schema check box.

If there are any mismatches during the comparison of the schemas, a warning message appears displaying the mismatch details.

Click Skip & Continue to continue redirecting. You can click Cancel to cancel the process.

  5. Click Finish.

The existing schema is redirected to the chosen schema.

After you redirect, the name of the chosen schema changes in the Transformation View and the mappings are replicated from the existing schema. When you open this transformation, the mappings are graphically represented as color-coded connection arrows. For more information about the color coding of the connection arrows, refer to Interpreting the Color of the Connection Arrows.

For conflicting mappings between the existing schema and the redirected schema, you can view the error or warning details in the Alert List view.
