Uninstalling Data Exchange Windows Components

To uninstall the Data Exchange components you must have the privileges to install the components.

You can uninstall them using either the Unisys Data Exchange - Setup Wizard or the standard Add/Remove Programs option in Control Panel.

It is recommended to use the Setup Wizard as it provides you the option to

You must first uninstall the Data Exchange Windows Components before uninstalling DEMS.

To uninstall a component

  1. Run the Data Exchange Installer application using the “Run as administrator” option.

    The Unisys Data Exchange<version_number> - Setup Wizard appears.

  2. Click Install Windows Component.

    The Data Exchange Management Studio (DEMS) Connection Settings page appears.

  3. Provide the following details:

    • DEMS Host: The full host name of the machine where you have installed DEMS.

    • Environment: The environment with which you have associated the user.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Click the icon of the component that you want to uninstall.

  6. Click Next.

    The change, repair, or remove installation window displaying the following options appears:

    • Change: This option is currently disabled.

    • Repair: To repair the installed component on your system by fixing missing and corrupt files, shortcuts, and registry entries.

    • Remove: To uninstall the component from your system.

  7. Click Remove.

  8. Click Finish to complete the uninstallation.

Notes:

  • Uninstalling the DDW does not remove the DDW Repository you have created in the SQL server.

  • Uninstalling the Runtime Administration does not remove the Unisys Data Exchange node in the Windows System Event Viewer.

  • Do not delete the application user account manually as it may cause issues during subsequent installation of Data Exchange components.

  • If you uninstall the Data Exchange component(s), and then re-install them with a different application user account, then you must manually assign the privileges to the new user account to access the old Data and Log folders. Note that deleting the application user account and re-creating it with the same name is also considered a different account.

You can similarly uninstall DEMS using the installation file that was used to install it.
