You can configure the log level of the Runtime Service, Administrative Service and Agent log files to the following:
Info (Information): Use this log level when you want to capture the general information, such as start and stop of services and any configuration changes, in the respective log file.
Debug: Use this log level when you want to troubleshoot a problem and want to capture diagnostically helpful information in the respective log file.
It is recommended to use the Debug level in a testing environment, than in the production environment.
The log files of the Runtime Service, Administrative Service, and the DE Agent for SQL Server are located on the Windows machine where Data Exchange components are installed. The OS 2200 Agent log files and the MCP Agent log files are located on the respective hosts.
When you change the log level of the MCP Agent Log File to Debug, the tracing is set on the MCP Server. Note that on the MCP Server, tracing is set means tracing is On and tracing is reset means tracing is Off.
To change the log level
Click Manage.
Under Source Database Hosts, select the source database.
In the Transformations Source pane, click the Settings tab, and then click Log Level.
The Log Level page displays the current log levels of the Runtime Service, Administrative Service, and Agent log files.
To change the level, click Edit.
In the Edit Log Level Settings dialog box, change the log level and click Save.
Notes:
The changes in the log level takes effect immediately. You are not required to restart the Administrative Service, the Runtime Service, or the Agent.
The changes may impact the log levels of all the transformations that share the same Runtime Service or the Agents. You can check the Runtime Service and Agent details on Settings> System. The transformations sharing the Runtime Service will have the same host name. The transformations sharing the Agent will have the same Agent host name or TCP port number.
The change in the log level of the Administrative Service log files applies to all the source databases.
You could also change the log levels directly in the logs configuration file, in which case you must restart the corresponding Service or the Agent.
