You can modernize an OS 2200 TIP application (or a portion of the application) with ClearPath ePortal Developer, if it uses Message Control Bank (MCB) for message handling. COMPOOL is not supported.
As part of the modernization process, you must import artifacts from your TIP application which you use to create ePortal server messages. Before you attempt the import, gather the configuration information described in the topic OS 2200 TIP Configuration Dialog. For detailed information on configuring Communications Interface for Transaction Applications (CITA) on the OS 2200 Server, refer to the following documents:
ePortal Enterprise Managed Platform Implementation & Operations Guide
Communications Interface for Transaction Applications Configuration and Operations Guide
If your TIP application uses DPS forms, you can import the DPS forms to create the ePortal server messages. Refer to the topic Preparing to Use the DPS Import Form Library Dialog for more information.
Notes:
When you use DPS 2200 applications with ePortal, the low-level functions such as full-screen and free-format are not supported because ePortal/TIP Connector clients (CONNECTOR storage type) are not terminals. Clients cannot produce (for input) or display (for output) the required data for the low-level functions. The use of D$GETFL, D$GETFL1, D$GETLI, D$GETLI1, D$GTSCN, D$GTSCN1, D$GETRESET, D$GTEMPLATE, D$PTEMPLATE, and D$PTSCN is restricted.
DPS 2200 programs in the demand environment and associated DPS 2200 demand functions are not supported.
If your TIP application does not use DPS forms, you can import COBOL 01 records from your TIP server program to create the ePortal server messages. Refer to the topic Preparing to Use the OS 2200 COBOL Data Source Wizard for more information.
