Staging the Published Application Using the ePortal Stage Option

After publishing a project to a Web Deploy package, you can stage the published package to the ClearPath ePortal runtime platform.

To stage the package to the ePortal platform, perform the following steps:

  1. In Solution Explorer, right-click the presentation project, and then click Stage Published Package to ClearPath ePortal Platform….

    The Stage Published Package to ClearPath ePortal Platform dialog box appears.

  2. For Published Package Location, click Browse…, and select the location of the published Web Deploy package.

    Note: If the package is published using the ePortalStageProfile file, then the location is publish\CorePackage.

  3. In the Stage Location box, select the ClearPath server on which you want to stage the Web Deploy package. Select the server from the list of mapped drives. To map a new network drive, perform the following steps:

    1. Click Map Network Drive….

      The Map Network Drive window appears.

    2. Select a Drive letter from the Drive list.

    3. In Folder, enter the name of the share folder to map in the following format:

      \\<CLEARPATH_SERVER>\<APPLIANCES>.

    4. Select the Connect using different credentials check box.

      The Enter network credentials window appears.

    5. Enter the user name and password of the host, and then click OK.

      Notes:

      • The list of mapped drives will only show drives that are mapped to an APPLIANCES share.

      • For an MCP server, ensure that the user ID has a GROUPCODE file attribute value of EPORTALSTUDIO or EPORTALDEVELOPER.

      • For OS 2200 server, ensure that the usercode has an EPDACR Access Control Record (ACR) set. For more information, refer to the ePortal Platform Generation 5 Planning and Implementation Guide.

  4. (Optional) Clear the Unmap Network Drive after Stage check box, if you want to map the network drive after you stage the published package.

    Note: By default, the Unmap Network Drive after Stage check box is selected.

  5. In the Stage As box, enter the name of the staged application.

    The staged name is displayed in the STAGED APPLICATIONS tab in the ClearPath ePortal Manager.

  6. In the Version box, enter the version number of the staged application.

  7. Click Stage to stage the application.

    ePortal Developer copies the web deploy package to the ClearPath server . The output window displays the progress of the stage operation.
