Enterprise Partition Platforms

ClearPath Forward ™ applications execute on one or more computers equipped with Intel Xeon instruction processors. These computers are formally referred to as enterprise partition platforms (EPPs).

The ClearPath Forward fabric Interconnect unites each enterprise partition platform in a single fabric environment.

As shown in the EPP on the left, some EPPs run the Unisys Secure Partitioning (s-Par®) firmware. Such EPPs are called partitionable EPPs. Some EPPs, such as the one on the right, do not run s-Par firmware and are called nonpartitionable EPPs.

This release supports up to a maximum of 32 EPPs in a given fabric. EPPs may be any combination of 1-processor-socket EPPs, 2-processor-socket EPPs, and 4-processor-socket EPPs.
