The Fabric Manager is designed to both simplify and centralize nearly all of your day-to-day management tasks. The user interface allows operators and administrators to manage components of a fabric. The Fabric Manager has the following capabilities:
Managing Platforms: The Fabric Manager allows you to efficiently configure and manage enterprise partition platforms in the fabric. Using the Fabric Manager, you can do the following:
Discover the platform.
Set and edit initial configuration of the platform.
Perform operations on the platform such as powering-on, powering off, shutting down, and so on.
Configure the console settings, which include network settings, user authentication, configuring and managing the console directory services, and firmware updates.
View the platform health status.
Managing s-Par Firmware: The Fabric Manager allows you to manage s-Par firmware in your fabric. Using the Fabric Manager, you can do the following:
Upload an s-Par firmware.
Upgrade an s-Par firmware.
Delete s-Par firmware from a platform.
Delete s-Par firmware from the FMP.
Managing Blueprints and Gold Images: The Fabric Manager allows you to manage the blueprints and gold images in your fabric. Using the Fabric Manager, you can do the following:
Add blueprints and gold images.
Delete blueprints and gold images.
Managing Partitions: The Fabric Manager allows you to manage partition images on a platform. Using the Fabric Manager, you can do the following:
Commission a partition image. The commissioning process checks the availability of resources, installs the OS image on the selected partition image, and starts the partition image.
View the partition image summary.
Start and stop the partition images.
Edit the partition image summary.
Resize the partition image size.
Decommission a partition image.
Managing Switches: The Fabric Manager allows you to manage the switches in your fabric. Using the Fabric Manager, you can do the following:
Add a switch.
Edit switch configuration.
Delete a switch.
Launch the switch management console.
Managing Secure Fabric: The Fabric Manager allows you to manage secure fabrics. Using the Fabric Manager, you can do the following:
Add a secure fabric.
Associate PEPP and NEPP partitions to a secure fabric.
Disassociate PEPP and NEPP partitions from a secure fabric.
Edit a secure fabric.
Managing Diagnostic Data: The Fabric Manager includes infrastructure for collecting and managing diagnostic data. Diagnostic data includes events and alerts, dumps and inventory reports that enables the customer to identify, investigate, track and resolve problems quickly and effectively. Using the Fabric Manager, in the Diagnostics console, you can do the following:
View the events and alerts.
Filter the events and alerts.
Accept, close, reopen, and export the events and alerts.
Resend failed Call Home events.
Edit the event log retention period.
View, filter inventory reports.
Generate, download and delete inventory reports.
