Site Readiness

Consider the following when making final preparations to ensure your site is ready for hardware installation.

Construction Cleanup

All site construction and cleaning of the area should be completed before equipment delivery. Dust, metal filings, fumes, excess heat, and excess humidity are extremely hazardous to equipment components. The results of exposure frequently do not become known until some time after the exposure. At that time, the cause of the problem is difficult to assess and correct. Many construction operations can produce these adverse conditions.

Power

Site-provided power, cabling, signal reference grid, and UPS should be installed and functioning prior to equipment delivery. If cable troughs for the intercabinet signal cables and network communications lines are needed, install the cable troughs prior to equipment delivery. Also, verify that the provided power source is correct.

Final Inspection

When the site facilities are completed, the equipment installer contacts the site to verify that the installation requirements have been met. Measurements of selected parameters are made as needed to determine site quality.

The equipment installer informs the customer if nonconforming site conditions need to be corrected.
