When you attempt to add a platform using the Add option on the Summary tab, the Fabric Manager does not add the platform to the fabric.
The error message “Unable to add the platform” appears. | Power cord is not connected to the platform. FM LAN switch is not connected to the platform. Default IP address of the platform is not properly
configured.
| Manually verify if the platform is connected to the
AC power. Manually verify if the platform is connected to the
FM LAN switch. Verify if the platform's default IP address is correctly
configured. If you do not have the IP address details, contact the
Unisys service representative. Platform settings and configurations such as BIOS
settings should be verified. Contact the Unisys service representative for modifying the
settings.

Network
settings are not configured in the platform management console. | In the
platform management console Verify if the IPMI connections are enabled. Verify if the forwardfm user has been created. Verify if the processor frequency, core count, and
memory are supported by the Fabric Management Platform.

Only field engineer has the privilege to log in to the platform
management console. |
s-Par®
IP address is not properly configured. | If the
platform is a PEPP, power on the platform using the Platform Management
Console. After few minutes, ping the default s-Par® IP address.
If the ping is successful, you can add the platform. If
the ping is not successful, contact the Unisys service representative and report the problem. |

and cleared before adding platform | Disable the NTP setting and clear the NTP server settings
on platform management card using the platform management console. |

The following error message appears: Unable to configure the Platform Management Card FM LAN IP Address Fabric Manager fails to roll back to the platform
management card’s previous default IP address. The following
error message appears: FFM fails
to roll back to the PMC and s-Par (PEPP) previous default IP addresses. An attempt to re-add the platform fails.
| Network connectivity issues or IPMI setting issues. | Identify and correct the networking or IPMI condition
that is causing the problem. Reset the platform to its default IP addresses. For PEPP, ensure that the BIOS, PMC, and s-Par Instance (that
are applicable to the PEPP) settings are set back to the original
default values. For NEPP, ensure that PMC IP address is set to the original
default value. Note:
It is recommended to perform this step under the supervision
of Unisys Service Representative. Delete the platform details from the database using
the script deleteDeviceByName.sh. You can find this script in the
FMP folder /user/local/ffm/scripts/. To delete the platform details, Log in to the FMP using root credentials. Open a terminal session and run the following commands: cd /usr/local/ffm/scripts/ ./deleteDeviceByName.sh
Enter platform name to be deleted. In
the Fabric Manager user interface, verify if the platform has been
deleted.
