Associating Partition Image with a Secure Fabric

The Fabric Manager allows you to associate partition images that are commissioned on different platforms with a secure fabric.

Prerequisite: The partition image that you want to associate with a secure fabric should be in Stopped state.

To associate a partition image with a secure fabric

  1. On the Fabric Manager user interface, point to System Administration, and then click Secure Fabrics.

The Manage Secure Fabric appears on the left pane and the Details: Physical Fabric screen appears on the right pane.

  2. In the Details: Physical Fabric pane, double-click on the secure fabric with which you wish to associate a partition image.

The Details: <secure fabric name> screen appears.

  3. In the Partitions tab, click Associate.

    The Associate Partitions window appears.

  4. Select the partition image that you want to associate. You can also choose the VBDF (logical port) for the partition image.

    Notes:

    • The Fabric Manager displays only the partition images that are in Stopped state.

    • You can select multiple partition images at a time to associate with the secure fabric.

    • The Associate Partitions screen does not reflect any change in the partition image state. This includes the partition being deleted.

  5. Click Associate.

The selected partition images get associated with the secure fabric and appear in the Partitions tab.

Note: If necessary, start the partition images, and then proceed to the operating environment on the partitions to complete associating the partitions with the secure fabric.
