You can upload s-Par firmware to one or more platforms using the Fabric Manager user interface.
Prerequisites: s-Par Status of the platform to which you want to upload the new s-Par firmware should be Running.
To upload s-Par firmware to one or more platforms
On the Fabric Manager user interface, click Advanced Settings, and then click the s-Par Firmware tab.
The list of platforms on the fabric appears.
Select the platforms to which you wish to upload the s-Par firmware.
Note: The option is unavailable if the s-Par Status field status indicates Stopped or Unknown.
Click Upload.
The Upload s-Par Firmware window appears. A list of platforms that you have selected appears under the Selected Platform section. The list of s-Par firmware available on the FMP appears under the FFM Repository section.
Note: The FFM Repository is a repository folder on the FMP that stores the s-Par firmware files. The path to access the s-Par firmware folder on the FMP is /FFM-Repo/firmware/spar. s-Par firmware files are downloadable from a DVD or from the Unisys Support site to this folder. s-Par files are also added to the FFM Repository when they are uploaded to a platform from any other location. Unisys recommends periodic deletion of older or unused versions of s-Par firmware files. This avoids issues that applications may encounter due to unavailability of adequate storage space.
Under the Select Firmware (FFM Repository/Choose a new File) section, do one of the following:
Under FFM Repository, select the firmware file that you want to upload.
Under New, navigate to the location of the s-Par firmware file and click Open.
Click Upload.
The uploading process is initiated.
The status of s-Par upload appears on the Event Console as an event with INITIATED status.
Once the upload is successful, the event status indicates SUCCESS.
The uploaded s-Par firmware appears in the drop-down list under Available s-Par firmware for the platforms.
Notes:
If any column on the s-Par firmware tab displays Unknown, verify the recommended levels of iDRAC on the Unisys support site.
If you are uploading the firmware from FMP to the platform, then the Event Console displays two events - one with INITIATED status and another with SUCCESS status.
If you are uploading the firmware from any other location, the Event Console displays the following:
One event with INITIATED status and another with SUCCESS status for the upload operation from the location to the FMP.
One event with INITIATED status and another with SUCCESS status for the upload from the FMP to the platform.
