Memory Planning

When determining memory usage, many factors apply. Naturally, a key factor is the memory requirements of your applications. In addition, generally every device that your partition uses will add to the overall memory requirements: for example, physical and logical NIC and HCA ports and processor cores. So as you increase the number of such devices, you should increase the amount of memory.

One of the most important factors in memory usage is how many secure fabrics a partition is associated with. Refer to Secure Fabrics and Memory Requirements for a discussion of memory usage with secure fabrics.
