Unisys defines and enables a set of secure fabrics before shipping the (InfiniBand) fabric switches. If your fabric environment only contains nonpartitionable enterprise partition platforms (NEPPs), you must choose from one of these predefined secure fabrics when associating the NEPP operating environment with a secure fabric.
The predefined secure fabrics are divided into four quality of service (QoS) groups. From highest to lowest priority, the secure fabric QoS levels and subnet tags (referred to as pkeys in InfiniBand terminology) are as follows:
Unisys Quality-of-Service (QoS) Level | Maximum Number of Secure Fabrics of this QoS Level | Subnet Tags (PKEYs) of Secure Fabric |
---|---|---|
Platinum | 21 | 0x0101 – 0x0115 |
Gold | 38 | 0x0401 – 0x0426 |
Silver | 38 | 0x0701 – 0x0726 |
Bronze | 21 | 0x0a01 – 0x0a15 |
The predefined IP-LAN secure fabric uses the default Interconnect partition value, and is assigned a QoS level equal to Bronze, with a subnet tag (PKEY) of 0x7fff.
For more information on associating your NEPP operating environment (Windows, Linux, or VMware virtual machine) with a secure fabric, refer to Associating a NEPP with a Secure Fabric.
