Specifying Verify Options

Use the Verify tab to specify the following options:

Click the Default button to reset the options to the default value.

Column Mode

Selecting truncate or wrap specifies whether the Verify function truncates a line or continues (wraps) the text to the next line. The default is to truncate lines. If a line is truncated, a plus sign (+) is placed at the point where the text is truncated. If a line is wrapped, a dotted arrow (…>) precedes the continued text on the next line.

Error messages are always output in their entirety. Matching token lines in long output format are always truncated, and truncated at the maximum output line length.

Number of Columns

The Number of Columns is the output line length. This value can be between 70 and 3000. The default is 70.

Exception Mode

When this option is selected irregularities in the matching of messages and patterns are reported. Input messages that successfully match the given number of exceptions (0 to 9) are not reported. Any Input message matching less than or greater than the given number of exceptions of patterns is reported. The default value for the number of exceptions is 1.

Report Format

Summary Format

Summary Format displays one line for each input message. This line includes the line number of the message in the message file, match notification (number of matches, if any) and the message text. The match notification is blank if there are no matches for the input message.

Long Format

Long format displays each input message and its characteristics along with detailed message and pattern information for each matched message.

CP-AMS and SMART AMS Options

CP-AMS and SMART AMSoptions select the operating mode or modes (Attended, Casual, and Unattended) to use when displaying the actions that would be executed as a result of a pattern match. Only a single operating mode can be selected for Summary output. Any combination of operating modes can be selected for Long output. If an operating mode is not selected, no actions are displayed. Operating modes are specified on the ACTION commands in the AMS database.

SP-AMS Option

SP-AMS option selects the mode to use when displaying the actions that would be executed as a result of a pattern match.  Normal is the only option. If a mode is not selected, no actions are displayed.

SP-AMS Hostname

Designates an SP-AMS hostname for use in pattern matching and action processing.  The default host name is host.

Warning and Information Levels

Selecting a warning and information level sets the level of warning and information messages to display. The message level can be a value of 0, 1, or 2 (0 being the least information, and 2 being the most information). The default level for each is 1.

Single Match

This setting reports either the first pattern match for each input message, or indicates that no match was found.
