In Administration mode, the details pane provides you with editable and read-only property information for a specific item you selected in the display pane.

In Operations mode, the details pane typically contains two tabs, called Properties and Alerts. The Properties tab displays read-only property information for the objects you selected in the display pane. The Alerts tab lists all alerts for the objects selected in the display pane. Alerts raised against Operations Sentinel itself do not display here; you can only view these alerts in the Alerts window.

In both modes, the details pane displays properties of multiple selected items at once. When you select multiple items in the display pane, the details pane displays the values that are common. In Administration mode, you can edit the values of properties displayed in the details pane and have your change applied to all selected items at one time.

Sorting Items in the Display Pane

Sorting allows you to arrange items in ascending or descending order. To reorder items in a table in the display pane, click the  column heading to switch between ascending and descending.

Showing or Hiding the Details Pane

To show or hide the details pane, click Details on the View menu. You can also close the details pane by clicking the close icon () in the top right-hand corner of the details pane.

Changing the Property Order in the Details Pane

You can choose how you would like the properties in the details pane to be ordered, either alphabetized or categorized. Categorized is the default display.
