About Arbitrary Systems

You can define an arbitrary system to represent any object you wish to monitor that is not among the managed system types you otherwise can configure. An arbitrary system can represent, for example, a system management component that reports events of interest to Operations Sentinel. Event reports, including alerts and logging events, can be posted against a named arbitrary system using the Event Server application program interface (API), the spo_event command, or spo_pipe. You can configure a terminal session for an arbitrary system that supports TELNET or login.
