Adding Actions to an Action List

After you define action lists and templates, you can use the templates in action lists by configuring actions.

To add an action to an action list

  1. In the navigation pane, under the Alert Policies node, expand the desired alert policy.

  2. Expand the Action Lists node and select the desired action list.

  3. On the File menu, click New Action.

    A new action is added to the action list. By default, the new action has Raise as its action event and no template is selected for the action.  

  4. Save your changes.

After you have added an action to an action list, you must specify the properties of the action (such as associating the action with a template and setting the time delay).

Tip: Instead of creating a new action, you have the option of copying an existing one and editing its properties to fit the needs of the new one. Using an existing action to create a new one could save you time by eliminating the need to reenter similar data.
