Operations Sentinel Console enables you to launch a remote desktop to control Windows workstations and servers. In Operations mode, you can open a remote desktop by right-clicking the image representing the Windows system in a topology, or the row representing the system in a table. You can also open a remote desktop by right-clicking an alert in the details pane if the alert applies to a Windows system. In both Administration and Operations mode, you can open a remote desktop from the Applications menu in the main window of Operations Sentinel Console.
Once a remote desktop is opened, the full capabilities of the remote desktop product configured for the Windows system are immediately available to you.
Each time you launch a remote desktop, Operations Sentinel writes a message to the SP-EXTAPP log. This message includes the system name, the time you opened the session, your Windows login, and the process id (pid) of Operations Sentinel Console.
Note: Only an Operations Sentinel administrator can configure a remote desktop connection.
