Creating Views

Views store the information that is required for protocol adapters to connect to applications. A view can apply to several protocols or can be unique to one protocol. Refer to Using Protocol Adapters for more information.

Note: If protocol adapters are not installed on the server machine, the View menu option is not available.

To add a view, perform the following:

  1. Right-click the View node of the required server and select New > View.

The Add a View dialog box is displayed.

  2. On the General tab page you must specify:

    • The name of the view.

    • The name of the system to which the view connects.

Note: When creating a view for Component Enabler User Interfaces, this System name is case sensitive and should correspond exactly to the system name of the application. The system name is the name of the Segment or else the Alternate Name if it has been defined.

    • The runtime server to which the view relates.

  3. Complete the fields on the option pages as required:

  4. Click OK.

Configuring Views

Once you have created a view, you can change and configure its values by either double-clicking the view node, or by right-clicking the view node and selecting Properties.

Note: If you make changes to an existing view, you must restart the appropriate AB Suite Protocol Adapter for these changes to be actioned.
