You can log in to the Fabric Manager user interface by using the credentials provided by the administrator.
The supported browsers for accessing the Fabric Manager user interface are
Firefox (Windows only) version 38 and later
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11
Google Chrome version 40 and later
Notes:
By default, the password for a Fabric Manager user account expires after 365 days. Unisys recommends the ClearPath Forward administrator manually set a separate external password expiration reminder (for example, an Outlook task) to notify the administrator that the password is about to expire and should therefore be changed using Changing User Password prior to the password expiring to ensure no interruption of normal operations. Be sure to adjust the external password expiration reminder accordingly when the password is reset or Fabric Manager software is reinstalled.
The minimum screen resolution supported to view the Fabric Manager user interface is 1280 x 1024.
If desired, the font size of the Forward Fabric Manager user interface can be adjusted with use of standard browser functionality.
If you are uploading files such as images, blueprints, and firmware that are of size more than 4 GB, then use Firefox or Google Chrome browser.
Multiple site administrators or operators attempting to issue simultaneous partition or platform commands against the same set of resources by using the separate Fabric Manager browser instances can lead to undesirable results. Activities must be coordinated to avoid the undesirable results. |
Prerequisite:
The FMP public LAN IP address on the customer corporate LAN —recorded during fabric installation— is available. If you have two Fabric Management Platforms configured as a high availability cluster, be sure to use the floating FMP public LAN IP address so that you are connecting to Fabric Manager on the active FMP.
Your account is activated by the Field Engineer. This is not synonymous with Unisys service representative. This is a separate user role for the Fabric Manager.
To log in to the Fabric Manager user interface
Type the Fabric Manager IP address in a browser.
The Fabric Manager log in page appears.
Type the user ID and password, and then click Sign In.
The Fabric Manager home page appears.
Notes:
It is not recommended to access the Fabric Manager and its features on multiple browser tabs in a single user session.
The Fabric Manager user interface will prompt you to change the password when you login to the Fabric Manager the first time. The default user credentials are as follows:
User ID | Password |
---|---|
forwardadmin | Forwardadmin@1 |
administrator | Administrator@1 |
operator | Operator@1 |
observer | Observer@1 |
Note: By default, all the default users are deactivated except the user forwardadmin.
To log out from the user interface, click Sign Out at the right corner.
By default, the user account will lock after five consecutive login failures and unlock after 30 minutes. The permitted failure count and the lock-out duration can be adjusted by a ClearPath Forward administrator. See Setting User Password Lockout Preferences and Unlocking a User for more information.
If the Fabric Manager browser session is left unattended for 30 minutes, it automatically gets terminated. A warning message is displayed in the browser, providing you an option to extend the session for another 30 minutes.
