Associating a PEPP Partition with a Secure Fabric After Commissioning

If you did not associate a partition image with a secure fabric during commissioning, do the following to configure the partitionable enterprise partition platform (PEPP) partition for participating in a given secure fabric:

  1. Using the ClearPath Forward Fabric Manager, access the Secure Fabrics screens, locate the following information for the secure fabric, and note them down:

    • Subnet type

    • Subnet IP address

    • Subnet mask

    • Subnet tag (PKEY)

  2. Using the ClearPath Forward Fabric Manager, select the partition image that you want to associate with the secure fabric.

See Associating Partition Image with a Secure Fabric for more information.

  3. Note down the IP address on the secure fabric that is assigned to the partition image.

  4. Using the partition image console, access the PEPP partition, and do the following to complete associating the partition with a given secure fabric:

    1. Create a virtual IP over InfiniBand (IPoIB) interface—a child of the InfiniBand HCA port IPoIB interface— in the operating system environment.

    2. Associate the virtual IPoIB interface with the subnet tag (PKEY) of the secure fabric.

    3. Configure the virtual IPoIB interface with the IP address on the secure fabric that is assigned to the partition image (noted down during step 3).

For detailed procedures, depending on the operating system on the PEPP partition, refer to one of the following:
