Role-based Access Control

Role-based Access Control (RBAC) is controlling the access based on the user roles. In RBAC model, access is granted to the users based on their business roles.

For example, in the RBAC model, an administrator user can add, modify, or delete the users, but will not have access to the commands that a system administrator can execute.

The Forward Fabric Manager provides the ability to achieve role-based access control, and includes a large collection of privileges that you can use to create a spectrum of roles. For more information on user roles and privileges, see Understanding User Roles.

You can configure the Forward Fabric Manager so that the identified users can perform only a specific and focused function. This protects your system from errors that might be made by users who are in unfamiliar or sensitive parts of the system's interface.
