Environmental DMS Options Screen

Use the Environmental DMS Options screen to define DMS details for your application.

The properties and their expected inputs are:

Copy Audit to Tape

Enter a value from the following table to control the copying of DMS II Audit files to reel or cartridge tape. By default, the value is Y. When the application is running, a WFL job is initiated to back up and remove DMS Audit trails once they are closed and a new Audit trail has commenced (this WFL can be modified).

spaces

No Audit Copying

If you enter U in this property, the Copy Audit to Tape Details screen is then displayed for you to enter in free format any required audit attributes. Examples of the attributes you can set are as follows:

Refer to Audit File Details Screen for more information.

DMSII Usercode

Enter the usercode for DMS II software (on the target host).

DMSII Family

Enter the pack family for DMS II software (on the target host).

No. of Reorg Tasks

Enter the maximum number of concurrent reorganization tasks that might be performed following configuration of your application. The maximum value you can enter is 4096.

By default, it is 1; that is, DMS II runs reorganization tasks serially.

Sort Sets on Reorg

Enter Y for sets to be sorted during reorganization. This extracts keys for a set or subset from the dataset, and sort them. This property can only be set globally. For example, it applies to all sets and subsets created or changed in a reorganization.

If you enter Y and you do not have the required DMS II software to support this choice, DMS II BUILDREORG gives a syntax error. By default, the value is N.

Refer to the Agile Business Suite Installation and Configuration Guide for more information on required DMS II system software levels.

Refer to Using Sort Sets in Reorganization for more information on using Sort Sets.

Reorg Allowedcore Kwords

Enter the ALLOWEDCORE parameter that is used by the DMS II BUILDREORG utility for any database reorganization. The value is specified in words and is factored by 100,000 (1=100,000). Enter no value (zero) to use the Default. The value stored in the LINCCNTL file.

If you enter a value greater than the memory you have available, your value is changed to 85 percent of the available memory (to ensure that the reorganization will not fail).

ReorgDB Totalcore Kwords

ReorgDb Totalcore is used in conjunction with ReorgDB Allowedcore to specify memory for recovery.

ReorgDB Copycore Kwords

Specifies a value within the BUILDREORG process that determines the number of copy tasks that can run at the same time.

Minimum: 1000Kwords (1 million words)

Maximum: 100000Kwords (100 million words)

ReorgDB Copy to Pack

Name of the pack to which the Reorgdb structures are copied for reorganization. It is optional.

ReorgDB Allowedcore Kwords

Indicates the amount of core memory that can be used for the reorganized database copy.

Minimum: 1000Kwords (1 million)

Maximum: 268435Kwords (268 435 000)

ReorgDB Name

Specifies the name of the database copy used during a REORGDB reorganization. The specified name must not be the same as that of the production database. However, the usercode of the ReorgDB Name must be the same as that of the production database. This option is required in combination with the REORGDB option.

Offline/ReorgDB

Enter Y in this property if you do not want reorganizations to be audited, but to use the DMS II OFFLINE reorganization.

Enter N to use audited reorganizations.

Enter R for ReorgDb reorganization.

Refer to Reorganizing Online for more information about the discussion of the issues involved in this choice.

If you are using the Remote Database (RDB) facility with this application, you have to reclone if you enter Y in this property. Refer to Remote Database Facility (RDB) for more information on RDB.

Population Increase %

Use this property to allow the population of the database to be increased automatically when it exceeds the current limit. A setting of 0 means that the population is not automatically increased. Any other value allows the population to be increased automatically by up to that percentage, until it reaches the system limit of 1000 areas. The valid range is 0 through 100.

By default, it is 0.

Population Warning %

Enter a value in the range is 0 through 99, to be the percentage limit at which a warning message is issued. By default, it is 0, which suppresses the message.

Display Pop. Warning

Enter Y to display a population warning message. Enter N to suppress the message.

Access External DBs

Enter Y in this property if you want to access external databases, using the AccessExt logic command. The External DMS Options screen is then displayed.
