This guide takes you through the steps to install the prerequisite software and the Data Exchange components. Data Exchange interacts with multiple components that are present in distributed computing environments. Therefore, it is important that you install the prerequisite software before installing the Data Exchange components. The following table provides you the list of tasks and the corresponding sections to follow so that you can easily complete the installation.
Installation or Configuration Activity | Relevant Section |
Before you begin with the installation, understand the environment and the Data Exchange components. | Understanding Data Exchange Topology |
Plan your virtual environment (if applicable). Plan your physical environment (if applicable):
Refer to the list of qualified and supported software. Note that the list changes based on the transformation.
Ensure that you have the required license.
Ensure that you have access to all the related documentation. Some of the components require you to refer to related ClearPath documentation for installation and configuration steps.
Install the prerequisite software and the Data Exchange components based on the transformation. | Installing Data Exchange Management Studio For Enterprise Database Server as the transformation source, see Installing Data Exchange for Transformations from Enterprise Database Server For SQL Server as the transformation source, see Installing Data Exchange for Transformations from SQL Server to Enterprise Database Server |
The above steps complete the Data Exchange installation. You can verify that the components are installed by checking the Control Panel , Programs and Features. After the installation, you can create and perform the transformation. For more details, See Appendix D, Sequence of Tasks to Perform a Transformation
