Operations Sentinel enables you to monitor and control multiple computer systems from a single workstation. Its primary client application, Operations Sentinel Console, provides you with a high-level view of the status of all managed objects at your site. You can view information such as which server each managed object is a part of, the state of the object, if it is being monitored or not, and so forth.
To assist in monitoring connection states, Operations Sentinel Console provides the following capabilities:
Topological displays of the systems you are managing. The status and connection of each managed system is indicated graphically. When an alert is raised, the appearance of the icon representing the managed system changes to indicate the severity of the condition.
Tables that depict utilization parameters and data for managed systems in real-time.
Additional tools to assist in monitoring connection states are
Easy access to console windows, terminal sessions, and remote desktops for the managed systems.
Easy launch of site-defined external applications for managed systems.
Alert icons in the navigation and details panes that summarize the alert states of the managed systems.
